Top 5 Korean Dramas Fashion Lovers Should Watch

I was strolling through harpersbazaar.com today and came across this really awesome article on The ’50s Films That Every Fashion Girl Should Watch. I’ve seen almost every movie on that list and can testify to it’s soundness! Haha

Anyways, after looking through that list, I thought it would be cool to make one for Korean dramas.

So without further ado, here are the top 5 Korean dramas I think all fashion lovers should watch!

1. My Love From Another Star

My love from another starThis has got to be the most popular Korean drama out there right now. I was speaking with one of my friends who by no means watches dramas, and even she was telling me about this one. From episode 1, everyone in this drama shows off an amazing wardrobe and it just gets better as the show goes on. Fun fact: one of the YSL lipsticks as well as some clothing pieces Cheon Song Yi was wearing in this drama sold out in department stores all around the world while this drama was airing.

2. Birth of a Beauty

Birth of a beautyThis drama was extremely fun to watch and brought a lot of great fashion ideas to the table. The plot focused on how important it is to feel comfortable in your own skin and why you should dress up for yourself, not others. Highly recommend this one!

3. Miss Korea

Miss-KoreaMiss Korea is based around the 90s and goes over the ups and downs a person can go through when in a beauty competition. At times, it reminded me of a Korean version of The Devil Wears Prada, so it was exciting to see the main character grow and develop.

4. Mask

maskkoreandramaOkay, so this drama is still airing right now with three weeks till the final episode, but I had to add it to this list. The main character has an amazing wardrobe that shows off her simple and chic style, while the second lead wears tons of interesting styles that you would expect to see at NY fashion week. By far my favorite drama right now, for the fashion and the plot.

5. Cheongdam-dong Alice

cheongdamdong aliceThis drama is too cute! It focuses on a girl that dreams of becoming a fashion designer in the extremely rich area of Cheongdam-dong and throughout the drama you get to see some amazing styles and outfits. I believe this drama is shorter than the others as well, so if you’re looking to start with one isn’t too long, I’d recommend this one.

What do you think of my list? Like it, dislike it?

And lastly, what is your favorite fashion based drama? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. 🙂

      1. I haven’t watched too many dramas. But my favorite one is ‘Master’s Sun’ 😀 I even have the taeyang necklace lol.

      2. That’s probably for the better. :p Oh, I haven’t seen that one, I’ll have to check it out! That’s so cool! A few years ago, my sister and I watched the drama ‘You’re Beautiful’ together and after the show we bought a pig rabbit phone charm. :p It’s a great way to meet other drama fans lol.

      3. Haha I saw a few episodes of that one, but I haven’t finished it yet (I’m notorious for starting dramas and not finishing them 😛).

      4. I’m a junior in college without a major 😭 lol. Just kidding (sorta). I think I’m going to go onto music. I want to go back to my roots 😂.

      5. That’s actually really similar to my situation right now. I started out as a psychology major because I’ve taken courses in it before and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Then I ended up taking the advice of family and friends and took a few classes towards an engineering degree…. yeah…. bad idea for me lol. I switched out and took a semester off to shadow different career paths I was interested in and ended up falling back into Psychology. I feel like even though it’s not the best degree to go for in terms of pay, it’s the one I really enjoy and would actually go to college for. That’s such an awesome major, I’ve always been jealous of people that can sing and play instruments. :p

      6. Wow so similar to my story…when I was in high school I wanted to be a singer. Then I listened to the people around me who said, “Music is such a hard industry to get into, blah blah blah…” So I decided to get an education degree instead. After 2 years of college I changed my mind, so I’m going to pursue music again. I’m still in the process of coming up with a backup plan, though. However, I’m going to 2016 off to work and save up money so I can finish the rest of my studies later. But who know, by then I might want to be an engineer 😂 (I also considered engineering, but only briefly because I don’t want to take calculus lol).

      7. Birds of a feather flock together? Haha, we are both going after our dreams, just getting a little side tracked along the way. :p I feel like I’m making hard life decisions and learning from them at this point. I was really easily influenced when I was younger…. or even like 6 months ago lol, but now I have a better understanding of what I want to accomplish in life, so it’s harder for others to influence the decisions I make now. I feel like it’s that way with everyone. The older we get, the more we realize that we need to be fully in control of our own decisions, otherwise we’ll just go back and forth on stuff because our heart isn’t there.

You could definitely become a writer, I mean you seem like a go getter and you have experience with a blog too. 😀 Or since you have some experience from your education classes, you could probably get into something like that as well. It’s just a matter of if it’s something you’d want to do as a career. Or you can be an entrepreneur! haha, that is my goal at the moment. 🙂 I feel like everyone can start up their own business, it’s just a matter of coming up with an idea that can help others, and then marketing it to the desired target market. Okay, I feel like I’m totally going off topic lol.

That’s going to be nice to take a break from school. 🙂 I remember when I started up again, it honestly was a little bit harder to get back into study mode, but I don’t think that’ll be an issue for you.

Hahaha, ikr, math is just not for me either. It’s like some people were just wired to love math and for the rest of us it’s a bunch of gibberish. :p

What kind of music do you like to sing?

Woah, I feel like I’m writing more in the comments than in my blog posts LOL.

      8. Haha no, it’s okay! I like talking with you! If you don’t mine email, you can reach me any time at princesslifealexa@gmail.com 😄. But yeah, I completely agree with you. And ironically enough, I work in the math department at my college 😂. I like algebra and statistics. My brain is so weird. I like to find patterns, test logic, etc. But I’m not in love with math 😂. And I also thought of the possibility of being a full time blogger/content creator. But I think I’ll just keep it as a hobby for now haha.
